Brett Sherman is a licensed clinical therapist offering counseling services to children, adolescents, individuals, and families in Birmingham, Michigan. Brett also sees clients in both Michigan and New York virtually via a HIPAA compliant Teletherapy platform.

Brett works to build a strong, healing relationship with each client so that you feel heard, empowered and supported. Practicing with a strengths-based focus and with consideration of each individual's life experiences, Brett provides a safe environment that invites open expression of thoughts and feelings to create positive change.
Brett has been trained to provide multiple therapeutic approaches which are tailored to meet each client's personal needs. She is a Certified Clinical Child & Adolescent Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP-CA) and has also trained with the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) to receive certification in the Collaborative Divorce practice. A voluntary dispute resolution process, Collaborative Divorce allows parties to settle without resort to litigation and provides spouses/partners with the support and guidance of your own lawyers without going to court. Additionally, Collaborative Practice offers the benefit of coaches, child and financial specialists who work together to negotiate a mutually acceptable resolution for all parties.
Outside of her outpatient private practice, Brett has gained clinical experience in the inpatient adult and pediatric hospital setting at both The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York, as well as Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. She earned her Masters in Social Work from New York University with a clinical focus in children and families, and her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
