HOW CAN COUNSELING HELP ME?
Counseling is an opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Often referred to as psychotherapy, counseling can help one deal with many individual, interpersonal, relationship/marriage, family, school/career, and daily life concerns. The process offers clients a safe, caring and confidential environment to explore their feelings, beliefs and behaviors, identify aspects of life they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set goals, and work toward desired change.

My typical recommendation is that we meet one time/week for a 50 minute session. Depending on your current situation, we may meet more or less often. Brief/extended sessions are also available on an as needed basis.

WHAT DO COUNSELING SERVICES COST?
My fee for a fifty minute session is $150.00. I also offer at home counseling which can be arranged with advanced notice, and reduced fees on a sliding scale are available on a limited basis.

I accept payment by cash, check, or credit card, and all payments are due at the end of our session. Please note that a credit card is required to book an appointment, and this form of payment is automatically charged unless you request otherwise.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
I do not accept insurance for direct services. As a mental health practitioner, accepting insurance would require me to share your personal information which becomes a permanent part of your medical record. By providing services privately, your information and treatment remain entirely confidential unless dictated by the guidelines of the HIPAA Privacy Policy, or with your specific consent. At your request, I will provide you with a receipt which you may submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Your appointments are very important to my practice and time is reserved especially for you. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
-While 48 hour notice is requested as a courtesy, 24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to be scheduled. If you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice, your credit card on file will be charged the full session fee.
-If you forget or consciously choose to forgo your appointment, you will be considered a “no-show,” and your credit card on file will be charged the full session fee. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. You will be billed the full amount of the session.

This cancellation policy allows my practice to help as many people as possible. We are welcome to discuss any of this information and will note any exceptions to these policies as appropriate.

DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?
I do not prescribe medication, but will refer you to a physician who can assist with medication management if required.
